Description

JACKALOPE - Tigerseye - 64 Inch - Hybrid Bow - 25-45 lbs

The bows of the JACKALOPE Tigerseye series radiate a mysterious depth and incredible warmth that is unparalleled. The choice of the name seems to be a logical consequence. The name "Tigerseye" stands for the reddish-brown tiger's eye, a natural semi-precious stone that conveys security and lets us rest in our center. It helps to keep the perspective, activates the memory, promotes concentration and gives alertness. The Riser is only visually based on this stone, but who knows, maybe its characteristics, now that they are known, will be transferred to the bow and its shooter to bring the next arrow safely into the gold.

The innovative SRF wood - a highly stable compound of several layers of wood and epoxy resin - in Ebano Flower design, gives the grip its characteristic look with clearly visible layers and stripes. However, the color scheme in various shades of red and brown is what gives the bow its characteristic look. The grip area offers a pleasant comfort while shooting. The palm rest is well shaped and the grip as a whole is designed to be slightly less contoured to fit better in the hand. The shelf, is clearly pronounced in its curvature and slopes more forward than other bows. Thus, it offers the arrow less contact surface and yet optimal guidance when shooting. The limbs are made of bamboo and black glass, with the bamboo wood visible only as a thin strip at the sides, framing the grip area with its lighter brown tones and running through the limbs into the tips.

Of course, it is not only the appearance and the name that captivate, also the finesse of this type of bow - the hybrid bow - quickly know how to convince! No wonder, it combines the best of two worlds: Recognizable at first glance as a traditional longbow, where, for example, the string touches only the tips, but not the limbs, it is, however, with 64 inches a little too short to be a "real" longbow. However, it makes up for the lack of size with the typical characteristic of a recurve bow, the clearly visible reflex-deflex shape in the limbs, and thus, cleverly combines the characteristics of a longbow with those of a recurve bow. The result is a compact bow with a particularly soft draw length, very good throwing performance, optimum arrow speeds and an almost complete reduction of vibrations in the grip.

SPEED - Carbon for even more speed

In the Speed versions, the JACKALOPE Tigerseye is now even faster! An additional layer of carbon improves the already good-natured characteristics of the bow again. It makes the bow more forgiving and provides a tighter and more accurate hit pattern when shooting. But how does it achieve this? Quite simply, the carbon insert not only makes the limbs lighter and more torsionally rigid, but also about 10fps faster.

Right-handed or left-handed?

Determination of the draw hand

The draw hand is the hand that pulls the string. This means that a right-handed bow is held in the left hand and drawn with the right hand.

Determining your personal draw hand has far less to do with whether you are left-handed or right-handed than you might initially assume. It is much more about determining the dominant eye. The dominant eye is used for aiming. This then automatically results in the draw hand.

The term dominant eye refers to the eye whose visual information is superimposed on everything. If a shooter tried to aim with the other eye, he would have to close the dominant eye.

There are two ways of determining the dominant eye: On the one hand, it is the eye that is generally favoured, for example when looking through the viewfinder of a camera, through the peephole or similar situations. On the other hand, there is a small exercise that can be used to determine the dominant eye beyond doubt:

  • The arms are stretched out and a triangle is formed with the thumbs and index fingers of both hands.
  • A small target is aimed at through the triangle, for example a socket or a cupboard knob. Focus on this object.
  • The hands are now slowly brought towards the face without taking the target object out of focus.
  • The triangle of thumb and index fingers will involuntarily tend towards one side of the face and this is where the dominant eye is located.

If the dominance of the eye and hand do not match, the bow should still be selected according to eye dominance. The arms can be easily retrained for the new draw hand, but not the eye.
