Description
The best of both worlds! - The JACKALOPE Obsidian Hybrid Bow.
A classic timeless design, combined with the highest quality materials. This is what gives the JACKALOPE Obsidian Hybrid Bow its elegance and convincing performance. The appealing handle is made of black-grey Teknowood, which is a highly stable combination of several layers of wood that gives the bow its unique look. The limbs are made of Bamboo, specially selected for bow making, which is covered with black glass. Manufactured in finest European handicraft from high-quality and innovative materials, you hold a true piece of jewellery in your hand!
So innovative the bows, so extraordinary the name! The Obsidian is a gemstone with very special and for shooters not unimportant characteristics. So this elegant, black stone made of lava glass not only protects against negative energies but also helps to realize your own goals. It promotes perception and strengthens inner peace and patience. A thoroughly successful choice of name for these flawless JACKALOPE bows.
Of course, it is not only the appearance and the name that captivate but also the finesse of this type of bow - the hybrid bow - quickly convince! No wonder, since it combines the best of both worlds: At first glance, it appears to be a traditional longbow, where, for example, the string only touches the tips but not the limbs, but at 64" it is a bit too short to be a "real" longbow. However, the missing size catches with the typical feature of a recurve bow, the clearly visible Reflex-Deflex-Form in the limbs, again and thus skillfully addresses the characteristics of a long and a recurve bow together. The result is a compact bow with a soft extension, high arrow speeds and an almost complete reduction of vibrations in the grip.
SPEED - Carbon for even more speed
In the speed versions, the JACKALOPE obsidian is now even faster! An additional layer of carbon improves the already good-natured characteristics of the bow. It makes the bow more forgiving and provides a narrower more accurate hit pattern when shooting. But how does it achieve this? Quite simple: By the carbon inlay, the limbs are not only lighter and more distorsion-resistant but also about 10fps faster.

Right-handed or left-handed?
Determination of the draw hand
The draw hand is the hand that pulls the string. This means that a right-handed bow is held in the left hand and drawn with the right hand.
Determining your personal draw hand has far less to do with whether you are left-handed or right-handed than you might initially assume. It is much more about determining the dominant eye. The dominant eye is used for aiming. This then automatically results in the draw hand.
The term dominant eye refers to the eye whose visual information is superimposed on everything. If a shooter tried to aim with the other eye, he would have to close the dominant eye.
There are two ways of determining the dominant eye: On the one hand, it is the eye that is generally favoured, for example when looking through the viewfinder of a camera, through the peephole or similar situations. On the other hand, there is a small exercise that can be used to determine the dominant eye beyond doubt:
- The arms are stretched out and a triangle is formed with the thumbs and index fingers of both hands.
- A small target is aimed at through the triangle, for example a socket or a cupboard knob. Focus on this object.
- The hands are now slowly brought towards the face without taking the target object out of focus.
- The triangle of thumb and index fingers will involuntarily tend towards one side of the face and this is where the dominant eye is located.
If the dominance of the eye and hand do not match, the bow should still be selected according to eye dominance. The arms can be easily retrained for the new draw hand, but not the eye.
