At home in nature! - The JACKALOPE Amber Hunter Take Down Bow
Those who call nature their second home and consider the bow parcours one of their favorite places will have true joy with the JACKALOPE recurve hunting bows of the Hunter series, the perfect companions for adventures in both forest and heath. With a length of 60 inches, the bows are compact and powerful enough to be agile and fast in dense forests.
The JACKALOPE Amber Hunter Take Down is handcrafted by the finest European handicraft from high-quality and innovative materials. The 15-inch riser, for example, is made of naturally grown amazoque wood, darker American black walnut and ultra-modern mycarta, giving it its unmistakable character. The African amazoque with its distinct and highly decorative grain gives the riser a natural, warm appearance. This contrasts well with the darker, less strongly grained wood of the American black walnut and the highly stable Mycarta, which provides stability and minimizes hand shocks. The limbs, on the other hand, are made of spiderwood and black glass, whose silky matt color is a perfect complement to the riser. All this together makes the JACKALOPE Take Down bows fast, forgiving and very smooth.
Another detail, perhaps not so obvious in its perfection, are the hand-cut transitions from the riser to the limbs. The riser merges into the limbs completely seamlessly, making it easy to forget that this is a bow consisting of three pieces. This shows that noble design can be seen very well in inconspicuous details as well.
Its eponym, the amber, is one of the oldest gemstones in the world. It is an energetic protective stone, which strengthens confidence and vitality. Its warm fire leads back to the own middle and supports you in exhausting situations. The perfect namesake for a perfect traditional bow.
SPEED - Carbon for even more velocity!
Of course, its traditional look is both simple and beautiful at the same time, but the Amber by JACKALOPE Archery convinces with one thing above all: Its speed. Even on the drawing board, the Amber was specifically optimized for higher speeds thanks to its special bow shape. Consequently, the main focus in the design of this bow was on its increased performance and maximum speed. These requirements are optimized by the optionally available speed versions. An additional layer of carbon further improves the already excellent characteristics of the bow. It makes the bow more forgiving and provides more accurate groupings when shooting. But how does it do that? Very simple: The carbon inlay not only makes the limbs lighter and more torsion resistant, but also about 10fps faster.

Right-handed or left-handed?
Determination of the draw hand
The draw hand is the hand that pulls the string. This means that a right-handed bow is held in the left hand and drawn with the right hand.
Determining your personal draw hand has far less to do with whether you are left-handed or right-handed than you might initially assume. It is much more about determining the dominant eye. The dominant eye is used for aiming. This then automatically results in the draw hand.
The term dominant eye refers to the eye whose visual information is superimposed on everything. If a shooter tried to aim with the other eye, he would have to close the dominant eye.
There are two ways of determining the dominant eye: On the one hand, it is the eye that is generally favoured, for example when looking through the viewfinder of a camera, through the peephole or similar situations. On the other hand, there is a small exercise that can be used to determine the dominant eye beyond doubt:
- The arms are stretched out and a triangle is formed with the thumbs and index fingers of both hands.
- A small target is aimed at through the triangle, for example a socket or a cupboard knob. Focus on this object.
- The hands are now slowly brought towards the face without taking the target object out of focus.
- The triangle of thumb and index fingers will involuntarily tend towards one side of the face and this is where the dominant eye is located.
If the dominance of the eye and hand do not match, the bow should still be selected according to eye dominance. The arms can be easily retrained for the new draw hand, but not the eye.
